The 'Average Goldback Exchange Rate', as published by Goldback Inc, reached $6.24 on March 28th, 2025. This is a result of price of spot gold rising to over $3000/oz and the Goldback rate pushed higher.

Utah Recognizes Goldbacks as Currency
March 25th, 2022 - Salt Lake City, Utah
The State of Utah recognized the Goldback as a legitimate circulating currency in House Bill 268. House Representitive Brady Brammer introduced the bill. Mr. Brammer lives in the Alpine Utah district, the same district that Goldback Inc is headquarted in. The State House and Senate overwhelmingly passed the bill, before it was signed by Governor Spencer Cox.
The bill's passage clarifies and reaffirms that Goldbacks are exempt from State Taxes. This bill is the first in any State to acknowledge Goldbacks specifically since 2019.
Goldback Reaches $4
March 8th, 2022 - Salt Lake City, Utah
The 'Average Goldback Exchange Rate', as published by Goldback Inc, reached $4.06 on March 8th, 2022, the first time since we have been tracking it. This was a milestone as the price of spot gold rose to over $2000/oz and the Goldback rate pushed higher.
