Q: How is Asayo pronounced?
A: Ah-say-oh.

Q: What does Asayo mean?
A: Nothing. It was short, generic, top of the alphabet, 5-letter URL that was
available. It's actually not a good name for a company, since people cannot pronounce it or
remember it, but we have it, so we use it.
Since naming the company Asayo, we have learned it means "hello" in Korean,
and is used as a first and last name in areas of Asia.

Q: What does International shipping cost?
A: You can see an estimated International shipping cost by selecting a country on the first
page of shopping cart, and clicking Recalculate. See Shipping
Costs.
After we receive an international order, we will calculate the actual shipping costs
for various shipping methods. We will then email you with these costs and let you pick which one
best meets your needs.

Q: Can a PC be used to control and program the LED signs?
A: Yes. Each LED sign comes with an RS232 serial port connected to an RJ11 phone type
connector on the back of the sign. See LED
Sign Serial Kit and LED Sign SDK.
If your PC only has a USB port available, you can use our LED
Sign USB Adapter to connect to our serial cable and our LED signs. You can also control our
LED signs over a LAN or the Internet via by adding our LED
Sign Ethernet Kit

Q: Does your LED sign software work with other LED sign brands?
A: Yes. Our LED sign software, which we developed in-house, works with Asayo LED signs,
Sigma ASC LED signs from Germany, Maplin LED signs from England, and ColorBrite LED signs in the USA.

Q: How can two LED signs be linked to display the same message?
A: Yes. If you have a Windows PC, with either a 9-pin serial port, or a USB port, you
can use our software to enter messages for all the LED signs together. From the back of the PC
you would connect our serial data cable, which on the other end has an RJ11 modular phone type
connector. If you wanted to feed two LED signs with the same message, you would take this phone
plug and plug it into a 2-way phone line splitter, which costs about $5 at Radio Shack. Then,
from the 2-way phone splitter, you can run standard 4 wire modular phone line extension cables, in
various lengths, which in total should not exceed 1000 ft. These standard phone cables would then
plug into each of the LED signs. When you click to send the message to the LED signs using our
software, both LED signs will receive the same signal and will start playing the same message.
LED signs linked together this way must be all the same type, meaning they must all have the same color
capability, and have the same number of characters across.

Q: Do you have 230V 50Hz versions of your LED signs available?
A: Yes. All LED signs and accessories can be ordered with a 230Volt 50Hz configuration,
at no additional charge.

Q: Do you have 12V versions of your LED signs available?
A: All of our LED signs can be plugged directly into a 12VDC power source, such as the 12VDC
outlet on a car dashboard. All you need to do is have the proper cable to do the hookup. No
voltage converter is needed. Our LED signs draws less then 36 watts of power, less than a 40 watt
light bulb. See Power Cord 12V.

Q: How long will an LED sign run off a 12V car battery?
A: The typical car battery has a rating of 60 Amp Hours, and you need to recharge it when
you've used 60% of its capacity. That means you only get 60 x 0.6, or 36 Amp Hours of usable capacity,
or 432 Watt Hours ( 36 Amp Hours x 12 Volts DC ).
Now assume 40% inefficiency in the system due to wires, power converters, transformers,
etc, and you have 432 Watt Hours x ( 1 - 40% ), or 259 Watt Hours. Our LED signs have draw an
average of 36 Watts.
So how long will a 60 Amp Hour car battery last, while powering the LED sign? That
would be 259 Watt Hours / 36 Watts, or 7.2 hours of operation.
Keep in mind, that if you don't drive your car enough to recharge your car battery, you
will have a dead battery, and will be unable to start your car. See Power
